minimum_rotated_rectangle

GeosDataFrameAccessor.minimum_rotated_rectangle(*args, inplace=False, **kwargs)

Computes the oriented envelope (minimum rotated rectangle) that encloses an input geometry, such that the resulting rectangle has minimum area.

Applies pgpd.GeosSeriesAccessor.minimum_rotated_rectangle() to each column of “geos” dtype and aggregates the results in a DataFrame.

Parameters:

• args – Arguments passed to minimum_rotated_rectangle() after the first argument.

• inplace (bool, optional) – Whether to perform the modifications inplace; Default False.

• kwargs – Keyword arguments passed to minimum_rotated_rectangle().

Returns:

DataFrame where each “geos” column from the original is transformed or None if inplace=True.

Return type:

pandas.DataFrame or None
